We were not out of school for this holiday. I work in Meridian, so I tried to incorporate the holiday into my lesson plans. The school administration invited parents who were Veterans to come and have an assembly program with the kids. I also read stories about veteran's Day and its significance in our country's history. I explained to the children that we are all able to enjoy the amount of freedoms that we do because there are people willing to sacrifice their lives for the greater common good.
