Teaching in the 21st Century

This video shows just how much technology is used in our students daily life and how we need to be incorporating it into our curriculum. I was somewhat shocked to learn some of the statistics shown in the video, especially how many teachers aren't teaching new technology because they don't understand it themselves. As one of the students said "If we learn by doing, then what are we doing sitting here?" I believe that students do learn more using technology in the classroom. Do you agree? What do you think can be done to promote teachers to keep up with technology the 21st century?

  1. Wow! I think this video was great. The kids were practically begging educators to allow them to use technology and to create new things. The students of today are truly digital learners and we must allow them to learn how they are comfortable. Teachers must first be willing to accept the changes that students are digital learners. They must also be willing to learn how to use some of these new technologies from their students. If the teachers in involve them, I belive they will truly learn.

  2. I really liked this video. It really shows how terachers really need to challenge their students. When students are bored in school, they will usually just sit back and not care about learning.
